DP83867IR: RGZ RGMII RX/TX Clock Skew Documentation Discrepancy Between Datasheet and Application Report

Part Number: DP83867IR

There are some discrepancies between the Datasheet (SNLS484D) and Application Report (SNLA243) regarding the strap settings for the RGMII Tx and Rx clock skews for the RGZ package option of the DP83867IR PHY. These are summarized below:

Datasheet (SNLS484D):

  • Table 6 (4-Level Strap Pins) has LED_2 as pin 45 and LED_1 as pin 46 for the QFN package:
  • Tables 9 (RGZ RGMII Transmit Clock Skew Details) and Table 10 (RGZ RGMII Receive Clock Skew Details) show the clock skew as incrementing from 0.5 ns to 4.0 ns in 0.5 increments linearly with the Mode number

Application Report (SNLA243):

  • Table 4 (DP83867xxRGZ RGMII Strap Pins) has LED_2 as pin 44 and LED_1 as pin 45 for the QFN package:
  • Table 5 (DP83867xxRGZ RX/TX Clock Skew Details) shows the clock skew as decreasing from 2.0 ns to 0.5 ns in 0.5 ns increments for Modes 1 to 4, and then jumping to 4.0 ns and decreasing to 2.5 ns in 0.5 ns increments for Modes 5 to 8:

Can someone confirm which document is correct for each of these bullets?

Thanks,

Amrith
