DP83822H: Powering the 1.8V AVD Rail

Part Number: DP83822H
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV62568,

Team,

I'm working with a customer who is debating between using a DC/DC or LDO for the DP83822H AVD 1.8V rail.  I see there is a TI Design that uses the TL1693 LDO, but they are currently looking at the TLV62568 DC/DC.  Would this part be a good choice to support the 1.8V rail requirements or would there be any concern on for noise / ripple / regulation?  Other than the Vin range for the AVD rail, are there any other considerations?

What might be good small DC/DC and LDO options to support the 1.8V AVD rail from 3.3V?

Thanks,

Tom

  • Hi Tom,

Both the LDO and DC/DC are good choices. I suggest that you add additional stuff options and a ferrite bead option on AVD and VDDIO lines if you are concerned about ripple.

From the DC/DC DS it says around 20mV ripple. That is fairly low and should not cause issue.
