TUSB215: Circuit and configuration for a host side application

Dear Team

For the TUSB215 test in the datasheet, every time should power on(RSTN) to reset the device to have a test, so for a real application, the system will only power up one time and the TUSB215 will be reset. After that, the TUSB215 will always powered up without reset, will this a problem?

Customer mentioned the device need toggle RSTN every time for the test even without change the configuration, so this is because the USB TEST_PACKET or some other things?

the TUSB215 host side application can be used without MCU to control the RSTN, right?

    There is no need to toggle the RSTN to collect eye diagram. you need to follow the sequence in the datasheet for host side eye diagram test.

    Yes, currently our problem is not the first time to test the eye diagram, after power up the device, and connect the SMA cable, the EVM can work and eye diagram can be tested for the first USB TEST_PACKET, but the second USB TEST_PACKET can not work, no hardware changed.

    The Second USB TEST_PACKET second time, the device can not work, need toggle the RSTN of the device, then the test will work again.

    So for the test process in the datasheet, Step 6, if we do not change the configuration, do we still follow step 1 - 5 for a new USB TEST_PACKET event? or we just can continue to send the USB TEST_PACKET without the Power Cycle or Toggle RSTN.
