DS90LV001: Using DS90LV001 as a MIPI CSI/2 Buffer

Part Number: DS90LV001

I'm already using the DS90LV001 in an LVDS Display Buffer Switch application. I'm wondering if it should also work as a MIPI CSI/2 Buffer? If not, why not, and can you recommend an alternate part for that purpose (in the same package if it exists)? I don't really need to re-drive the signal - It's being applied a switch for the signal lines in a hotplug application.

  • Hello,

I am not that familiar with MIPI CSI/2, and I am not sure if it uses LVDS signalling on the physical layer. If it is not LVDS, then most probably you can't use an LVDS buffer.
What are the requirements in terms of voltage swing, common mode, data rate, jitter, etc.?
    Regards,
    Yaser
  • Thanks for the reply. I believe I've answered my own question. I forgot that MIPI CSI/2 has a low power signaling mode that operates in a single-ended fashion - so that won't work when passed through this part. ( I think the high-speed differential mode would work correctly, but it will never enter that mode because the low speed signaling will fail).
