DP83822I: Regarding transformer

Hello support team,

I have some questions about DP 83822.
"Transformer electrical specification" is described in Table 139 on page 101 of the datasheet.

1. Is "Crosstalk" in Table 139 the value of the near end crosstalk? Or is it the value of the far end crosstalk?

2. Are the specifications described in Table 139 measured by TI using DP83822 EVM?
Or are they requirements specification for DP83822?

3. Could you teach me how to measure the specifications in Table 139?
Or should I contact the maker of transformer?

4. If the value described in Table 139 is the specification of transformer maker, of which transformer specifications they are?

Hello M. Tachibana,

The values mentioned in Table 139 are derived from transformer datasheet. We do not measure transformer parameters. For more information on the transformer parameters and how they are measured, I would recommend contacting transformer manufacturers.
During our validation we check that transformers which meet Table 139 requirements can be successfully used with our PHY. List of accepted transformer is mentioned in Table 138. There can be other transformer not included in the list that meet the electrical requirements from Table 139.
