Hi team,

I'd like to confirm with you that whether dp83tc811r-q1 support short to battery and GND protection on the connector side?

My customer will conduct short to a 14V power supply and GND test, will the AC capacitor protect our device from destroying?

Do you mean customer plans to connect the PHY pins to 14V? Can you share any more setup information?

Hi Aniruddha，

Short to bat protection at the automotive connector side is required, they will short the pins to 14V or gnd? Is that ok for dp83tc811? I think it should be fine since we have ac capacitor, the 14v would not affect the TRD_P/N.

What do you think?

Hi Dongbao,

Yes, the 811 will survive the supply-ground short.

DC blocking caps will isolate the battery and the internal ESD structure will suppress the impulse.
