TMDS181: TMDS181 detasheet question

Hi everybody!

There is a question about TMDS181 data sheet: SLASE75D.pdf.


1: When not using the SPDIF_IN function, it is described as GND and connection via 500 kΩ,
 Is it mandatory? Also, could you tell me if there is a tolerance of 500 kΩ?

2: It is recommended that the resistance value of Pull-UP / Down setting each control pin is 65 kΩ, but can it be changed to 62 kΩ or 68 kΩ etc.?

 (Is it ok to think that  it is within the range of 65 kΩ ± 10%?)

3: It is recommend 55 Ω ARC output terminating resistor,
 If not used ARC function, may it be 49.9 Ω or 51 Ω etc?

4: It is recommend VSADJ, 7.06 kΩ 1% ,
 I think used 7.04 kΩ is good enough, is there a problem?

    1) Use a 500KΩ 5% tolerance resistor for this pin and is optional. This resistor is used to reduce power consumption when ARC is not used.

    2) Use a 65KΩ 5% tolerance resistor for these pins. The configuration of these resistors should correspond to desired logic levels on the configurations pins

    3) Use a 55Ω 10% tolerance resistor for ARC termination.  This should be inside the HDMI1.4b specification. 

    4) Yes this resistor value is okay to use. 

    In general it is good practice to use resistors with a 5% tolerance of the specified value unless told otherwise in the case of VSADJ. The pull-up and pull-down resistors help to set the correct voltage at the pin for proper configuration.
