TCA9545A: What Different Between an I2C/SMBus Multiplexer (TCA9544) and I2C and SMbus Switch (TCA9545)

Hi Sirs,

As title, Would you pls advise the differences between an I2C/SMBus Multiplexer (ex: TCA9544) and I2C and SMbus Switch (ex: TCA9545)? We found the TCA9544 and TCA9545 have the same functions while the TCA9545 has a reset input.

Hi Wayne,

The functions are similar, but not quite the same. While the switch device allows for any combination of channels to be enabled at a given time, the multiplexer only enables a single channel at once. Please just let me know if this is not clear.
