TUSB9261: Questions about using the TUSB9261

Part Number: TUSB9261

Hi Sir:

1.  Why is Pin 56(SATA_TXM) connected to A+ not A-? but Pin 59(SATA_RXM) is connected to A-

Why is Pin 57(SATA_TXP) connected to A- not A+? but Pin 60(SATA_RXP) is connected to A+

2. Can GPIO be open?
3. If the USB port is connected to the USB HUB, can the Pin50 be open
4. Can the SPI Flash be remove?
5. Can the GRST(Pin5) be open?

  • Bryan,

    1. The reason for the swap is explained in the note above. The firmware reflects the mismatch. (Implementation Guide p15)
    2. GPIO can be left open but for power saving purposes they should be set as outputs.
    3. Pin 50 can not be left open, you need the voltage divider from the schematic.
    4. The SPI flash cannot be removed because it contains the firmware that is loaded after reset. (Datasheet p15)
    5. To satisfy the timing requirements for the state machine, I would put at approximately a 1uF capacitor to ground on GRSTz. (Datasheet p12)
