TPS65983: TPS65983EVM configure problem

HI,

I bought a TPS65983EVM from TI store, I have some questions:

I set the board to emulate as a mid power charger adapter(CFG ID#12). I want to change the source PDO from 12V/3A to 12V/2A.

Just only change the maximum current.

Can you send me the tool to modify it?

or Can you modify the code, and then send me the new binary file or hex file.

    Hello Zhifeng,

    If you go back to the product page for the TPS65983B, there is a special note with a link you submit to request the config tool.

    If you using the TPS65983B for a Thunderbolt design, then you are fine. However, if you are not implementing a Thunderbolt design, I would recommend using the TPS65987D.

    I received TPS65983_application_customization_3_13 from distributor WPI Business Group,see figure1.   I can NOT find where to configure as a charger.

    It seems only has Thunderbolt templates

    My question:

     Does tps65983A  configure tool has templates like TPS65981_82_86_87_application_customization_3_17( figure 2)?

    I found that HD3SS460_DFP_Advanced is suitable. It's good configuration for charging.

    Do you have TPS65983A_HD3SS460_DFP_Advanced template for TPS65983A?

    I need to configure as a charger , which is similar to TPS65983EVM,  see figure 3,

    I only use PD function to power contract. I do NOT use TBT and displayport .

    The product mate  with this charger is A PD protocol Tablet.

    I want to change the source PDO from 12V/3A to 12V/2A.

    Hello,

    The TPS65983 family of parts are intended for Thunderbolt applications so if you are not using Thunderbolt, then I would not use the TPS65983B. You can use the TPS65982 instead as it has the GUI template files that you need for your application. The hardware will be similar to the TPS65983B, but the TPS65982 internal ROM is different. Here is a link to an EVM you can purchase.
