SN65HVD72: Problem with SN65HVD72 for RS485 bus

Hi Team,

I facing some problems trying to use TI RS485 SN65HVD72

I have tried to change my RS485 IC from - MAXIM- MAX3072EESA to TI- SN65HVD72

PinOut is identical – I have only change footprint in new PCB.

Firmware didn’t changed and when I test the new PCB I cannot work with more than 5 units on the RS485 bus.

With the MAXIM MAX3072EESA I can work with 25 units easily .

Please advise if you can understand what might be the reason.

Hi Shlomi,

The HVD72 can support a large number of nodes, so this sounds a bit strange. To better figure out what might be going on, could you please probe the A and B signal lines when the problem occurs and capture the waveforms using an oscilloscope?
