TPS65990: VBUS RC snubber resistance

Part Number: TPS65990

Hi,

The datasheet suggests to use 3.48ohm for VBUS RC snubber resistance.  If we can't find a exact resistor of 3.48ohm, can we use a close value like 3.3ohm?

Thanks!

Antony

  • Anthony,

3.48 ohm is a real resistor. we are using CRCW04023R48FKED from Vishay on our EVM designs. However, if customer wants to lower it to 3.3ohms, that might be ok. By the time it is laid out on the PCB you might get some variations too. If the Snubber resistor is lower, it reduces the effective damping of the circuit. Customer can put the resistor and measure this.
