PCA9518: Alternative to NXP PCA9518A?

Part Number: PCA9518

Hello,

I noticed that NXP has a PCA9518A version, do you we have something like that?

Do you know the difference between the A and non A version that NXP has to offer?

The only thing I was able to catch was that they are able to offer lower Vcc range of 2.3V to 3.6V, on CMOS technology instead of BiCMOS, but we have better MAX Vdd specs.

Does TI have anything to offer for this?

Thank you,

Louie

  • Hey John,

"Do you know the difference between the A and non A version that NXP has to offer?"
I suspect the only difference may be they updated their process technology and fix bugs.

This device is a bit special as it is basically a switch that has buffering on all of its channels, we do not have any other devices which are similar to this besides the PCA9518 which you probably already know of. The alternative would be to use an I2C switch and place buffers in front of the channels.

    Thanks,
