DS80PCI810: Handling of unused channels

Hi,

in one of my PCIe designs a DS80PCI810 (or a DS80PCI800) could solve my SI issues. However, I use only four lanes and the other four channels of the device remain unused. The datasheet states, that there is the ability to turn off the unused channels ... unfortunately I did not find any further hint. Thus my question is, how to handle (software and/or hardware) the unused channels.

Hi Sebastian,

Please try reg 0x01 PWDN Channels. Bits 7 through 0 allows you to power down each individual channel.

Hi Nasser,

thank you very much for the quick response. Since you didn't mention an extra treatment for the unused pins I assume it is OK to leave them floating. Correct?

Hi Sebastian,

Yes it is OK to leave them floating. Once you power down unused channel it shuts down the channel signal path.
