TPS65986: PD versus BC V1.2 power delivery

The  TPS65986 can negotiate power delivery over the CC1 and CC2 lines as well as implement the BC v1.2 spec over the D+ and D- lines.  The Type C version 1.3 spec states:  

4.81.  

If a Source is capable of supplying a voltage greater than default VBUS, it shall fully
conform to the USB-PD specification, and shall negotiate its power contracts using
only USB-PD.

Since I intend to have the capability to supply up to 20 Volts in my design, it seems to me that I need to disable the D+/D-  charging and powering.  Is this correct?  If so how do I disable the legacy and BC v1.2 power negotiations in the TPS65986?

    The TPS65986 has BC1.2 detection so it will only do BC1.2 as a power sink. If you still want to disable BC1.2, you can do so using the Application Customization GUI that can be downloaded under the tools and software tab on the TPS65986 product page. The BC1.2 enable/disable field is found in the System Configuration register (0x28).
