DS80PCI402: Does DS80PCI402SQE EVM test PCIe3.0 Preset test?

Hi , 

Does the DS80PCI402SQE EVM ever done such PCIe 3.0 test ? how is the performance of it ? Thanks.

    Hi Cheng,

    We have tried a similar Preset test for the DS80PCI800, which is an 8-channel unidirectional version of the DS80PCI402. Because this redriver is not designed with highly linear performance, the DS80PCI800 was unable to pass all 10 preset levels according to the margin needed for the precursor/postcursor settings of each Preset. If you require a redriver that passes these preset requirements, I recommend looking into either the DS80PCI810 or the DS125BR111.

    Note that passing the Preset test, though a requirement for PCIe compliance according to PCI-SIG, is not necessarily a requirement to operate in a PCIe environment. The DS80PCI800 and DS80PCI402 have been used in numerous PCIe 3.0 applications without issues, as long as the system designer is able to tune the redriver to allow for optimal error-free performance at 8 Gbps.
