PFD-Link2 to HDMI Converter

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UR906Q-Q1

Team,

Customer used DS90UR905-Q1 and DS90UR906Q-Q1 for RGB888 data. They are now looking for a bridge solution to HDMI for tooling in the factory. Do we have solution can convert FPD-Link to HDMI or other suggestions? Thanks.

Regards,

Allan

  • Allan,

    Sorry FPD_Link has no HDMI solution.

    regards,

    Steven

  • Hi Steven

    To explain more on this requirement is as below:

    Currently, the datapath is:
    Camera (RGB888) --> DS90UR905-Q1 (1 lane FPD-Link II) --> DS90UR906Q-Q1 (RGB888) --> FPGA (RGB565) --> HUD display
    The HUD (Head-up display) window is too small for us to do the focus tuning of camera lens.

    So, we would like to find a way to have a bigger display that:
    Camera (RGB888) --> DS90UR905-Q1 (1 lane FPD-Link II) --> "A bigger display"

    Do you have any recommendations on this?
    It donsn't need to be HDMI interface, we could also accept like:
    Camera (RGB888) --> DS90UR905-Q1 (1 lane FPD-Link II) --> DS90UR906Q-Q1 (RGB888) --> "A bigger display"
    But it's better that it's off-the-shelf (We can purchase the Evalation Board, if it can have a bigger display).
    Thanks for your advise in advance.

    Thanks,
    Kyle
  • You can see ADI ,hdmi transmitter ,which can transmit RGB888 to hdmi, and then support large resolution LCD.
    You also can see toshiba semiconductor, which also has similar bridge chip for this purpose.
  • Allan,
    if you need improve the resolution to match larger display panel, you can use TI's DS90UB921 in camera side to receiver RGB888 video signal, and the de-ser can be UB948/928 which can support 1920x720P resolution. thanks.
    no HDMI bridge is required.

    best regards,
    Steven
  • Hi Steven

    Thanks for your valuable reply.
    However, for our current project, the DS90UR905-Q1 is already there to convert the RGB888 from camera to 1 lane FPD-Link II interface.
    So, we would like to find a deserializer that could convert the 1 lane FPD-Link II to a larger display panel.

    Thanks,
    Kyle
  • Kyle,
    unfortunately, FPD-Link can't zoom in or zoom out the video resolution. I think you need one graphic processor for it. thanks.

    best regards,
    Steven
