TS3USB221: shorted to ground

Hi

Our customer are considering this device. And they have some question about the behavior at abnormal condition.

2D+/- is connected to external USB connector.When VCC is supplied and select input is low, 2D+/- is shorted to ground at the connector.
Is there any concerns?
(In this case,D+/- is communicated to 1D+/-. 2D+/- is open.)
