Hi, TI team

I would like to use between PHY(1Gb Ethernet) and pulse transformer because of distance.

DS100DF410 is corrent part to this application?

Could you recommend correct part(redriver)??

Hi Mason,

The retimer is not the correct device to put on a 10/100/1000 Ethernet style link with a transformer. The edge rates and output amplitude are not compatible.

Just to be sure, do you have more information about the type of 1G Ethernet in this application?

Hi Lee,

I don't know what kind of information do you need..

Please refer to the attached file about the type of 1GbE.

The PHY is built into the COM Express (Type6) module.

Hi Mason,

The DS100DF410 is only compatible with IEEE802.3z

The IEEE 802.3z standard includes 1000BASE-SX and 1000BASE-LX for transmission over fiber. These standards use 8b/10b encoding, which inflates the line rate by 25%, from 1000 Mbit/s to 1250 Mbit/s, to ensure a DC balanced signal. The symbols are then sent using NRZ waveforms.

Optical fiber transceivers are most often implemented as user-swappable modules in SFP form.

We do not have a redriver which is compatible to the Ethernet 10/100/1000 outputs of our Ethernet Phy devices. They should be connected directly to the magnetics.
