Part Number: SN75DP159
Trying to choose appropriate part for our product and also some clarification questions on the specifications
1) Trying to connect our display port ; driving pins are at 1.0->1.05V. However the TMDS level sifter seem to be requiring minimum voltage of 1.1v. Will we be able to still use this part? If not is there any other part that could accept the above mentioned voltage range?
2) why the source side HPD connection is called HPD_SRC, while this is the input. This is receiving the connection from a monitor. Shoudn't this be called HPD_SINK instead?
3) We don't have GPU(CPU) driving I2C interface, since it needs larger voltage driver. Hence need to use pin straps on the platform to configure the component. What significant abilities we lose not having I2C interface to the part?
4) REF: (SXx5DP159) document () -> corresponding to 1.0V drivers how do I deduce VIH/VIL/VOH/VOL requirements to be to connect to this part?
5) Will the part be able to connect HPD signal from the TMDS connector to the GPU GPIO pins @1.0V? or do we need to have additional Level shifting on the platform besides this part.
6) Driving OE pin form the GPIO operating @0.95->1.0v; Will we be able to directly connect our GPIO to this part's OE pin?
7) Part says it operates from the ROM inside so need to deal with any platform FirmWare; is my understanding correct?
8) you have a PLL inside the part, how do you get the reference clock to this PLL?
