According to the datasheet, DS90UB948-Q1 is not the device concerned safety-relevant.

Is my understanding correct?

Hi TQ,
Yes, UB948 has no ASIL qualification. But UB948 passes AEC-Q100 qualification, and can have some error detection internally for diagnose, such as error counter, CRC error, EQ status, etc., you can leverage it.
