Our customer is evaluating DS90UB953 and DS90UB954 on the STP mode.
We have a question about VDD_SEL setting.

We would like to know difference of Internal 1.1-V LDO mode and External 1.1-V LDO.

I know the power consamption is the one of the difference poins.

Is there other difference poins?
Is there a advantage or a disadvantage due to the difference?

Hi Nao,
Both selections can be supported by UB954, which is shown in d/s as you point out.
For TI, we integrate internal regulator as 1.1V supply provision, which can help our customer easy to use UB954 and cost saving. the disadvantage of enabling internal regulator is "the higher power consumption" compared with external 1.1V supplies.

OK. I will answer our customer that "The disadvantage of enabling internal regulator is "the higher power consumption" compared with external 1.1V supplies".

I have one more question.

Figure 43. "Typical Connection Diagram STP With External 1.1-V supply" is STP setting, but picture of RINx is Coaxial setting.

Is it a mistake?
