We have questions about UCC27201.

We want to use this IC by Duty 100%.

Do you know the method that UCC27201 operates by Duty 100%?

Can we use this IC without Bootstrap capacitor?

    Hi Takahiro,

    Thanks for asking about UCC27201, Im an apps engineer with this device.

    The HO output relies on the bootstrap cap close to the device to source its high current pulses. For 100%dc of the highside used as a DC switch we need a floating supply for the bootstrap. UCC5390SCDEVM-010 has an isolated bias that will help to easily evaluate this. It uses SN6505B to drive a push pull transformer to generate an unregulated floating bias which can also continually replenish the bootstrap cap while being referenced to the swinging HS pin. You can add a limiting resistor and zener to help limit the overcurrent and overvoltage on HB.
