RS232 Tranceiver which can output LVCMOS 3V3 or RS232 Level

Hi Team,

is there any RS232 transceiver which can either output 3.3V LVCMOS or RS232 level? If not do you have any idea how that could be done?

    Hi Simon,

    Unfortunately I'm not aware of a device with this feature integrated. The simplest solution I can think of would be to use an RS-232 transceiver that is capable of being disabled (with high-Z output) along with either an analog switch or a logic buffer (with disable feature) that could be used to route the DIN signals directly to the DOUT signals. When LVCMOS communication is needed, the RS-232 transceiver could be disabled and the switch/buffer could be enabled.
