TPS65983B: Question about the configuration tool

Hi,

I have some question for the field in the TI configuration tool 3.13, could you answer the question or help me to find the answer?

 

The picture is come from the below setting, and the value are all default.

New project → Tapex Creek → Static charging → Port A → Physical pin

 

1. Could you help to explain this setting? Which should I choice if the target is the thunderbolt device or the pure USB device?

 

2. What’s “XID” mean? Does it relative to USB Gen2 certification?

 

3. What’s “Certification Test ID” mean? Does it relative to USB Gen2 certification?

    Hello,

    1. If you are using physical HPD, there will be a signal connected to GPIO4 that controls the hot plug detect. With Virtual HPD, the signal is sent to and from the TBT controller over I2C.

    2. XID is a value the customer can enter. There is no limitation to what it can be, it is up to the customer.

    3.  The customer can enter a value here when going for TBT Certification.

    Please keep in mind that the TPS65983B is only to be used when following an Intel TBT reference design.
