Serialize and DeSerialize

Hellow

I am a new user and would like to ask for an assistance:

Below is a scenario that I have to implement:

Input: A low-frequency logical signal (Din) (up to 50KHz)

-   Function#1: to modulate / serialise  (Din) into a high frequency of ABT 1GHZ (Differential signal)

-   To send it through FIBER

-   Function#2: To receive the High frequency and restore/reconstruct back to a logical signal.

-   Output: The same input signal (Din) with latency.

Does anyone have an idea how to implement Function#1 and Function#2 ?

Thanks a lot

Gln

  • Hello,

Can you please give some more details? How many parallel bits is the input signal? Serializers take a number of parallel inputs and serialize them into 1 serial (differential) output, then on the other side the deserializer performs the opposite operation.
Also, what is the modulation you refer to? The serializers /deserializers we work with don't perform any modulation.

  • Clarifications to my question:

Input signal is only 1 bit (logic level - 3.3V or 0V).

This input signal has limited bandwidth (< 50 KHz).

I need to transmit this signal through a fiber optic and on the other side to receives and reconstruct back the input signal .

This Fiber can works in the range of 1 GHz to 5 GHz.

I need to transform this input signal into a high frequency and  than back .

  • Hello,

Thanks for the clarification. Unfortunately, we don't have a solution for this application (at least not within my group). You may want to try posting the question to other forums, such as the RF forum, and not mention serializer/deserializer as it may be confusing.
