TPS65983B: System Settings and UFP Discover Identity Response

Hi Eric,

I have some questions regarding to the System Settings and the UFP Discover Identity Response.Your device is a PICe extension and includes just the TPS, TBT3 and 4 PICe cards.

What means the Customer Version? Is this something like the model revision? The XID I think is the USB-IF: USB Power Delivery ID, right? Should I need this if I don´t use an USB-device?

The same questions to the UFP Discover Identity Response like before.Did I need an USB Vendor ID, Certification Test ID and an USB Product ID, if I just use the Thunderbolt?

Hi Patrick,

The Customer Use field is for you to put a version number if desired. For example, if you have multiple version of FW you can put a version number there or project name. This field is free for you to put whatever you would like.

XID would be for USB PD cert. If you are not needing this, you can leave it blank.

You don't need to put anything for the USB Vendor ID, Cert Test ID, or USB Product ID for just TBT cert. You could leave the Vendor ID as the default value (0x8087) which is Intels ID.
