DS15EA101: Need Recommended Operating Junction Temperature Limit and Theta JB

  1. DS15EA101SQE/NOPB

    • Theta JB is not provided in the datasheet, can you provide that package thermal resistance for this component?

    • What is the recommended operating Tj (Junction Temperature)?

      1. Part is rated for -40 °C to +85 °C ambient operation

      2. Using rated power dissipation of 210 mW and JA of 42.1 °C/W at Ta = 85 °C, one could infer an operating Tj limit of 93.8 °C

      3. Our usage condition results in an estimated Tj = 127 °C

      4. Can we run this part at Tj = 127 °C and be assured of full functionality?

        • If not, do you offer a part that will provide this functionality with a higher Recommended Operating Junction Temperature?

    Hi Dave,

    1). Theta JB for these parts have not been characterized.
    2). Recommended maximum operating junction temperature for these devices are in order of 100 deg C.

    Theoretically speaking, based on power consumption, device operating junction temperature is under 100 deg C. However, these parts have not been characterized to operate at higher Tj and thus functionality cannot be assured.
