DS36C278: Supply voltage drop below recommended range

If supply voltage of the device drops down to 4.5V (recommended operational range is 4.75V to 5.25V) will device fail or it will provide lower output voltages while keeping overall functionality? The duration of the voltage drop is about 20ns (max) with the 100KHz of periodicity

Hi Karen,

The test suggest that the device retains basic functionality when the supply voltage is lowered indefinitely to 4.5-V . As you suspected, the driver outputs a lower voltage under these conditions. The specified supply range is most likely above this because a few other specifications may not be guaranteed.

Due to the frequency of this under-voltage condition, any effects could be minimized by ensuring decoupling capacitors are used in your application.
