Currently we are working on the following setup:

AR0220 Camera <-> 953 Serializer <-> FAKRA Cable <-> 954 De-Serializer* <-> MIPI Adapter* <-> S32V234 EVB2

Need suggestion for the following:

1) Is it possible to read the remote sensor register values through the deserializer?
2) Is there any serializer register which shows the status of remote sensor register?

Hi Aditya,

1. You can read the remote sensor register values through the scripting tab if you know what registers you want to read from. Just make sure to initialize the sensor and the I2C address should pop up in the SlaveID automatically (0x5D). If you have more than one camera with the same address, you can also program the SlaveAlias (0x65...) so you can differentiate between the different cameras.
2. There are no registers that can show you the status of the remote sensor register. You just need to talk to the sensor from the scripting tab and figure out what registers you are looking to read from.

Hi Sally,

Is it even possible to read 16 bit register of the remote sensor attached to the serializer through ALP tool or Aardwark. I have this doubt because I read some thread where it is mentioned that ALP tool cannot read any 16 bit register of the remote sensor. Hi Aditya,

You are correct. It's not possible to read a 16 bit register through ALP. You will need to use another program if you want to read registers of that size.
