DS100KR800: RESET pin to disable output drivers

Hello

I have a device operating at 10G that does not tolerate signals on its inputs when un-powered. In order to prevent signalling from reaching the unpowered RX pins, I am looking for a 10Gbps tristatable buffer, repeater or redriver device. I am considering the DS100KR800 for this application. Output tristating needs to be pin controlled, not controlled by SMBUS, so the PDWN Channels register cannot be used. I am wondering if the RESET pin will provide the desired behaviour. Does asserting RESET tristate the repeater outputs?

Yes the PDWN pin will shut off and mute the outputs.

Hi Lee

Just to be absolutely clear - the DS100KR800 does not have a PDWN pin, it has a RESET pin. Can you confirm that asserting the RESET pin will shut off and mute outputs? Can you also confirm that it is safe to drive the input pins while RESET is asserted.
