TPS65982: -10C Operating Temperature

Customer has -20C operating temperature requirement for TPS65982. Why the -10C operating temperature limit?

My suggestion was: TPS65981 would be an option. Operating temp is -40 to 85C or -40 to 105C in QFN package. TPS65981 does not include real-time VBUS monitoring.

Any other suggestions?

Hi Mark,

This must be a mistake on the compare feature of TI.com. I've requested our marketing team to take a look at it.

From a technical perspective, the TPS65982 and TPS65981 implement the same VBUS monitoring for OVP, UVP, OCP, and RCP.

Hi Mark,

The TPS65982 was designed to be used mainly in personal electronics. Most persoanl electronics have a temperature requirement of -10C to 85C. The TPS65981 has an industrial package which allows for a wider operating temp.
