I am using the DS92LX2121/DS92LX2122 evaluation kit LX21EVK01 configured as directed in the evaluation kit for the built in self test. I would like to use the BIST_ERR counter register to log bit errors but I've run into a problem. The DS92LX2122 BIST_ERR error counter register (0x25) never counts any errors. I can run the BIST and observe between 0 and several hundred errors on the PASS pin on an oscilloscope, but the BIST_ERR register always returns 00. The product datasheet and evaluation kit provide very little information about this register other than "there is a defined SER and DES register that will keep track of the accumulated error count". Are there other settings that need to be enacted before this register will count and what happens on overflow? Thanks
