TCAN1051HV: Does Pin#5(Vio) accept floating ?

Hi All

My customer is evaluating SN65HVD251DR on their PCB.
But they are considering to change to new TCAN1051HVDR(V version).
If they evaluate TCAN1051HVDR on their PCB(designed for SN65HVD251DR), pin#5(VIO) will be floating.

Is there any problem ?
pin#5(VIO) should be supplied 3.3V?

Hello,

The VIO pin should not be left floating, since this pin is a power supply input. (Either 3.3 V or 5 V can be applied.) If the application requires pin 5 to float, it would be better to use the TCAN1051HDR device instead. That device performs the same as TCAN1051HVDR but defines pin 5 as a "no connect."
