TPS2552: TPS2552 and TPS2552D

Part Number: TPS2552

Hi Team,

I just got the first prototype from production and start to testing.

When trying to enable the chip it was not working - it was getting fault as I set EN to active.

After investigating this issue I saw that the chip I actually tested before putting it in the prototype design was TPS2552D.

As I noticed that issue, I replaced the assembled TPS2552 that was on the prototype board with TPS2552D and all was working fine.

After looking at both data sheet of TPS2552 and TPS2552D I saw that both chips are almost the same.

I don't understand why TPS2552 is not working and TPS2552D is working fine.

The working one (TPS2552D) has 15IL marking on its case, and the not working one (TPS2552) has CHX marking on its case - this is how I saw that there is a difference between the two of them.

Can you please help to understand what is the difference between those two components and what can be the explanation for the part number TPS2552DBVR not working with my design?

Thanks,

Shlomi
