DS80PCI102: DS80PCI102 - 1-lane PCI repeater

Part Number: DS80PCI102
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS125BR111

Hi Team,

I consider to use TI’s DS80PCI102 device as 1-lane PCI repeater on new PCB I designing for my production JIG

Can you please advise if there is any Errata I should know regarding this device

I don’t have I2C access nor external EEPROM, I intend to use the device hardware pins to program the equalizer and de-emphasis – are they working well?

Thanks,

Shlomi

  • Hi Shlomi,

The hardware pins do provide a good range of adjustment for PCIe applications. I think the biggest piece of information to understand is the total PCIe link attenuation. This helps to configure pin settings appropriate for the applicaiton. For a device like the DS80PCI102 it is best to place the component near the middle of the link. If the device needs to be placed close to one side or the other, I would consider the DS125BR111 instead as it is a more linear design and responds better to this type of link topology.

    Regards,
