Hi webmaster.,

My customer hope to design 10~15 meter HDMI 2.0 active cable.

Do you have any recommend solution? Can SN65DP159 fit cable application?

I read SN65DP159 datasheet and can't figure out any ROM which can store configured data.

If customer tuning the eye diagram by I2C, does it only control from outside? i.e. MCU or ASIC

Please give me a hint.

Hello David,

SN65DP159 should work for this application provided the cable quality is good enough for sending HDMI 2.0 10-15 meters.

There is no EEPROM so the SN65DP159 must be configured externally.

Hi Gerasimos,

Do you have another HDMI2.0 active cable solution which could be configured internally?
My customer designed in-cable equalizer which tuning the parameter and store within chip.
Have TI had such kind of solution? Similar with below link

Hi David,

We do not have an active cable HDMI 2.0 solution that can work operate solely off HDMI bus power. Also, the DP159 is a DP++ to HDMI 2.0 retimer, the TMDS181 is the HDMI 2.0 retimer.
