TPD2EUSB30: Host Controller to USB3.0

Part Number: TPD2EUSB30

Hello,
my carrier board use the VIA VL805 as Host-Controller to controll 4 USB3.0 ports.
I would like to use the TUSB2560 for ESD.

http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tpd2eusb30.pdf

this is the related datasheet. the Connection is on page 11.

My Question: Did I Need an inductivity like the TDK TCE 1210 900 2P T for each differential part?
How I must connect These?

regards

  • Hello,

Common mode chokes are low pass filters that reduce common mode noise to a differential pair signal. You can use them if you are worried about noise coupling onto both lines. However, they do take up a significant amount of bandwidth so you must be cautious that you have a high speed CMC that can handle speeds up to 5Gbps for USB3.0.

The connection for them is simple as there is an input and an output for each line. However for more information regarding specific CMC's you will need to talk to a manufacturer of them.

Also the CMC that you are referencing looks like it is now obsoleted.

  • Hello,

thank you for the nice answer.

Maybe this one should work TCE0806G-900-2P-T or is there a better cmc for usb3.0 ?
