TPD8S300A: Dead battery

Part Number: TPD8S300A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPD8S300

Hi Sir

I saw TPD8S300 have new version TPD8S300A and improve dead battery performance

May I know if i don't use dead battery mode ,do I need to change to use TPD8S300A? due to we have shipment to our customer for one year

  • If customer is satisfied with the TPD8S300, you don't have change to TPD8S300A at this time. There are two differences between them. It is OVP behavior and Dead Battery Boot-up behavior. Make sure you look at both.

    OVP--

    TPD8S300
•In the OVP state, the digital keeps the 8S RD resistor OFF
•It takes 29ms to recover from the OVP state

    TPD8S300A
•In the OVP state, the digital turns the 8S RD resistor ON
•If C_CCx > ~7V, the 8S RD resistor gets turned OFF in analog
•It takes 930μs to recover from the OVP state

    Dead Battery Boot-Up

    TPD8S300
•When VPWR goes from 0V to 3.3V, 8S RD resistor is disabled at the same time CC OVP FET turns ON

    TPD8S300A
•When VPWR goes from 0V to 3.3V, CC OVP FET turns ON completely first, and then 8S RD resistor is disabled

    Best Regards,
