TPS2546: Could support USB 3.0 & BC1.2 exist side by side?

Hi,

Due to customer 'd like to provide 1.5A current when work on USB3.0. Does any one could help to know the TPS2546 could support USB3.0& BC1.2 exist side by side? if no, have another solution can support ?

Hello Mark,

Yes, the TPS2546 can support USB3.0 as well as BC1.2. The USB3.0 differential pairs will just be routed around the TPS2546. Let me know if this answers your question or not! If so, please click This resolved my issue

Hello Adam,

let me double confirm it, so when detect USB3.0 plug in, the output current still can support 1.5A? from the datasheet, SDP(USB3.0) , only provide output current 0.9A.

Hello Mark,

Yes, when a USB3.0 device is plugged, the TPS2546 can support 1.5A. However, the TPS2546 can only supply a max of 900mA in SDP mode to a USB3.0 device, as this is what the BC1.2 standard limits it to. CDP and DCP charging modes can charge at 1.5A.
