TPS65987D: The max. and min. of OVP/UVP spec

Part Number: TPS65987D

My customer want to know or define their test spec range for OVP and UVP of TPS65987D.

If to set UVP and OVP as below, what are their minimum and maximum spec?

  • Hi Tiger,

The calculation for these settings are as follows:
    1. Under-voltage Protection Trip Point, PP_5V: The least voltage allowed on this rail is 4.75V and as per the configuration settings you're further relaxing it by 20%. So the point at which it will trip is 4.75 * 0.80 = 3.8V

    2. Under-voltage Protection Usage, PP_HV: The least voltage allowed on this rail is 95% of the set PDO voltage, and as per the configuration settings you're further relaxing it by 20%. So the point at which it will trip is PDO voltage * 0.95 * 0.80. So for 20V PDO it will be 15.2V

    3. Over Voltage Protection Trip Point: This is the absolute value where the OVP will trigger

  • Thanks Rahul.
    How about tolerance spec?
Customer want to know the min and max range.
For example, 3.8V is typical and want to know its max and min.
For others, also need to know the tolerance, could you please advise that spec?
  • Hi Tiger,

There will be around 5% tolerance on these value which comes from measurenment tolerances from hardware.

    Thanks,
    Rahul
