DS90UB949-Q1EVM: Potential EDID Issues & Fluctuating Active Video Resolution

Part Number: DS90UB949-Q1EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ALP

Hello all,

I am using the DS90UB949-Q1EVM to serialize HDMI output from a laptop to a separate board with a compatible TI deserializer, which feeds to a 800x480 display (secondary display). I have tried to modify the EDID values manually in the internal SRAM, but to no avail (am I mistaken in thinking that I can bypass the EDID by using a custom resolution profile on the Intel Graphics Driver on my laptop, which is driving the secondary display?).

The deserializer accepts a maximum pixel clock of 45 MHz, but I can't seem to output any lower than 101 MHz from the EVM. I also noticed that the "HDMI Status" information in ALP displays an active video resolution that is constantly fluctuating, and nowhere near the desired 800x640 resolution. The Y term seems to jump from 720 to 10020, with many values in between.

Any ideas for how to resolve this?

Thank you!
