TCA8418: TCA8418 to replace ADI/ADP5587

Can I use the TCA8418 to replace ADI/ADP5587 direct, without change any register?

    Hi Alex,

    Based on the datasheet for the ADP5587, it appears that the register addresses map to the same registers as the TCA8418. The pinouts (for the WQFN package) are also identical. There may be some changes in the descriptions of each register (Active HIGH vs active LOW), but at a glance they appear to be the same as well. If you encounter unexpected behavior, I would encourage checking these first.

    Hey Alex,

    I've looked at the two devices and it looks like they are almost identical. The only differences I found was our device supports a control-alt-delete function in the INT status register bit 4 whereas ADI's does not. The only other difference I saw was the debounce timers were different.

    The last thing I saw different is the device addresses are not the same.
