TCAN1051-Q1: Need to add IIO for total current consumption

Hi Team

I am a little confused about I have to add IIO(I/O supply current) for total current consumption,

and I would like to konw what is IIO.

here is my questions.

[1] at Silent mode with "V" suffix, the total current consumption is Max 2.8mA(= Icc + Iio = 2.5mA + 300uA) ?

[2] at Silent mode without "V" suffix, the total current consumption is Max 2.8mA(= Icc + Iio = 2.5mA + 300uA) ?

[3] at Normal mode regardless of With "V" or Without "V", and regardless of Dominent or Recessive,

I have to add 300uA for total current consumption ?

  • Hi Paul,

Iio specifies the current consumption drawn in order to supply the input/output logic pins: TXD, RXD, and S. This current will be consumed by the device, and will be drawn either from the VCC supply (non-V devices), or the VIO supply (V devices). As stated in the datasheet, the maximum current consumption is 300uA for Iio, but this maximum condition should only be met when the I/O voltage supply is 5.5V, as stated in the screenshot that you provided. Iio current consumption may be lowered if the VIO voltage supply is lowered in value (3.3V for example).

Answering your questions, the maximum current consumption (with all supply rails used) must be calculated with the 300uA Iio current included.
    Silent Mode Maximum = 2.5mA + 300uA = 2.8mA
Normal Mode Maximum will also include up to 300uA for the I/O pins, whether this current is drawn from VCC or from VIO.

    Does this answer your question?
