SN65DP159: DisplayPort alternate mode USB-C retimers/switches

Part Number: SN65DP159
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN75DP130, SN65DP141

product Broadcast camera ,viewfinder  HDMI/DisplayPort interface alternate mode USB-C

We have changed our viewfinder standard from HDMI to DisplayPort.

My question is:

1-can we still use the sn65dp159 rsb (40 pin package) for DisplayPort retimer. I was reading apn slla358 “dp159 ad dp retimre and the write about the 48 pin rgz package?

2- in another design I noticed that a sn75dp130 retimer is used? What do you suggest?

Right now I have the following:

Source:

Xilinx DP core>dp159>tusb1046 switch>cypress ccg3 PD ctrl>USB-C

Sink:

Viewfinder:

USB-C>cypress ccg3 PD ctrl> Altera DP core (no switch , no retimer)

I am a bit worried about the AUX signals and how the dp159 and the tusb1046 will work. For power reasons we want to switch from 4<=> 2 DP lanes.

Thanks in advance

 Ron
