LMH1297: LMH1297 IBIS-AMI model

Part Number: LMH1297

Hello,

The model of LMH1297 is being analyzed in ADS.
There are
ReTimer configuration, Cable Input, Cable Output
and
ReTimer configuration, FR4 input, FR4 output
samples in the LMH1297 model, but there is no "Cable Input, FR4 output"  sample.
I created a file E that combines C and D and analyzed it, but EYE does not open.
Is there a sample file that EYE opens at RX part with the following configuration?
TX (Tx_cable_75m.ibs) → Cable(75m) → BNC → Line (75 ohm) → LMH 1297 → Line (100 ohm) → RX

Best Regards,
Tetsuya

  • Greetings,

Please note LMH1297 AMI User Guide. Please let me know if you do not have access to this document.
In this document there are two schematic/figure showing cable input and FR4 output(figure 1).
Please simulate schematic shown in figure 1 - this schematic is provided with the IBIS-AMI model - and you should be able to output eye diagram and etc.

  • Hi nasser

    Thank you for your reply.

    I confirmed the user guide.
I think the case of figure 1 is not Cable input FR4 Output in Cable input Cable output. When LMH 1297 receives in a single and outputs in a differential, does not it need to combine with Figure 2?
Although the results are listed in the second half of the user guide, I think that this is not the result of Cable input FR4 Output as a result of Cable input Cable output, but is there recognition?

    Regards
    Tetsuya

  • Hi Tetsuya,

I agree with your assessment. There is not a schematic with cable input and FR4 output.

Please note figure 2 uses IN0 100-ohm differential input and OUT0-differential output after the signal is retimed. Once the signal is retimed, it does not matter whether this signal is coming from coax or 100-ohm differential. Therefor you can use figure 2 to check 100-ohm receiver CTLE and 100-ohm driver performance. Meanwhile figure 1 is used to check coax cable equalizer and cable driver performance. In summary, figure 1 & 2 can be used to check both 75-ohm and 100-ohm interfaces of the LMH1297 device.
