AM26LV32: VCC with 5V supply

Part Number: AM26LV32
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM26C32

Hi Expert,

It is recommend that AM26LV32 should be powered with 3.3V, however, VCC max is 6V.

Could we use 5V power supply? Because we are looking for TSSOP replacement for AM26C32 with higher data rate, only AM26LV32 can be used.

Thanks

Zhou

  • Hi Zhou,

The AM26C32 is available in the TSSOP package, and so that should be the better device to use in this case. The AM26C32 and AM26LV32 have very similar output transition times, and so they could both operate at similar data rates (the AM26LV32 should not be significantly faster).

Even though I would expect the AM26LV32 to remain operational at the higher supply voltage, I would be concerned about the impact this operation may have on longer-term reliability.
