LMH0397: EOM

Part Number: LMH0397

Hi TI Team. Can you confirm EOM works only for 3G or higher? thx Freddi

  • Hi Freddi ,

It works for lower data rates as well.

    Regards,,,,Nasser

  • Hi Nasser,

    great. Thank you.

0x2A seems to me is the number of bits observed by the EOM. Which leads to the assumption that EOM_MSB/EOM_LSB (Reg 0x25/0x26) must be equal or lower to the number given by 0x26.

What is actually not the fact. So what is the context for 0x25/0x26?

    3.9 "EOM Operation":

"The number of hits registered at each
point needs to be put into context with the total number of bits observed at that voltage and phase offset
to determine the corresponding probability for that point. The number of bits observed at each point is
configurable in CTLE/CDR Register Page Reg 0x2A"

  • Hi Freddi,
Reg 0x2A is the length of time - data rate dependent - to count hit counts for each 4096 cells. This means reg 0x2A defines the length of time we wait at each cell to count number of hits. Number of hits is recorded is reg 0x25 and 0x26.
