Hi team,

My customer asked question what will happen in device when EN and INH shorted each other for system failure analysis.

Will EN input circuit simply be broken due to electrical over stress?

Fujihara-san,

Because the EN pin is only rated for an absolute maximum of 7V, as long as VSUP is 8V (INH voltage is VSUP - 0.5V), the EN pin is at risk for electrical over stress. I can check this in the lab to verify and get back to you.

Fujihara-san,

I checked this on one device and shorting the INH pin and EN pin had no effect on device performance. That being said, this was on one device, and it is still not recommended to short these two pins together, since EN is only rated for a maximum of 7V.
