TUSB1042I: AC coupling capacitors on SSTX/SSRX line

Part Number: TUSB1042I

Hello USB Experts,

I have a question about AC coupling capacitors on SSTX/SSRX.

In TUSB1042I datasheet figure 19 and figure 20, there are 100nF AC coupling capacitors on SSRX/SSTX line.

But in datasheet figure 24 and EVM user's guide, there are 100nF AC coupling capacitors only on SSRX line.

Would you please let me know which one is correct?

Best regards,

  • Hello,
Both are correct. in USB all TX must have AC caps on the lines. for the datasheet the application is inside a device so both the RX and TX must be AC coupled but the EVM is an external device which means that the PC will have AC caps on its TX lines.
